Lee Asbury
The funeral for Lee Anderson Asbury, 69, 626 W. Seventh, will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the Davis Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Mt. Muncie Cemetery. Mr. Asbury died Thursday afternoon in Cushing Memorial Hospital. He had been in failing health several years.
He was born Jan. 28, 1907, at De Kalb, Mo., the son of Christopher C. and Elsie J. Ogden Asbury. He had farmed in Leavenworth County a number of years. He also had worked and retired from the Kansas State Penitentiary. He was a veteran of World War II. He was a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees Chapter 27 and a member of Byron H. Mehl Post No. 23, American Legion.
He was married Dec. 10, 1949 to Juli Rybinski. She survived at the home.
Other survivors include a daughter, Miss Vicki Lee Asbury of the home; a sister, Mrs. Opal Fevurly, Easton; four brothers, Ernest Asbury, Leavenworth, Arthur Asbury, Leavenworth, Woodrow Asbury, Lakewood, Calif., and Frank Asbury, Easton; and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Davis Funeral Chapel.
