HESTER PEARL JOHNSON
January 23, 1919 ~ March 26, 2001
Hester Pearl Johnson, 82, died March 26, 2001, at Muskogee, Okla. She was born Jan. 23, 1919, at Millerton. Her parents were T. A. (Thad) and Pearl Johnson.
Hester's mother died when Hester was 7 weeks old. She was their seventh child. Afterwards, her father married Ressie Bennett, and they had seven sons and daughters.
Hester delighted in giving her younger brothers and sisters, and her nieces and nephews, little gifts. She loved children, pets and nature. As a mature young lady, she came to faith in Christ as her Savior, and was baptized.
Hester was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and one sister.
She will be missed by brothers, Curtis M. Johnson, Redmond, Ore., Robert F. Johnson, Crescent City, Calif., and J. Clifton Johnson, Salyer, Calif.; four sisters, Nell Simmons, Banks, Ark., Eula Ritchie, Canadian, Okla., Charlene Pierot, Caddo, Okla., and Gladys Avedian, Traverse City, Mich.; and 26 nephews and nieces and their children.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, March 30, 2001, at Norwood-Coffey-Leonard Chapel, Idabel, with the Rev. Richard (Dick) Perkins officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
