William Kenneth Jackson, 96, born Nov. 7, 1917, in Irishtown Township, Ill., passed away Jan. 30, 2014, in Pueblo. William Kenneth Jackson Mr. Jackson lived most of his life in Pueblo, Colo., after his parents, Roy Earl and Mabel Carroll Jackson, brought him and his three older brothers and one younger sister to Beulah, Colo., in 1921, where his father became the pastor of the Beulah Methodist Church. Mr. Jackson spent his early school days in the Beulah Elementary School and in 1927, his family moved to Pueblo, where he attended Central Grade School, Keating Junior High School and graduated from Central High School in 1936. Upon graduation, he worked in various jobs during the 1930s depression years including driving a horse-drawn dairy truck and ushering at the movie theater in Downtown Pueblo. He then worked at the CF&I rail mill. He owned the Phillips Gas Station at 10th and Grand in the early '50s while still working at the CF&I. He was transferred to the seamless tube mill and retired from that division in 1980. Mr. Jackson was married to Donna LaNor Henderson, daughter of Holger and Iva Sanders Henderson. Mr. Jackson and Donna were married in 1937, at St. Paul Methodist Church and later joined the Pueblo First Baptist Church and were members of that church for about 75 years. She passed away in 2007. Mr. Jackson also was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Carroll W. Jackson, Hubert L. Jackson and Alvin L. Jackson; sisters, Lula Mae Jackson and Lorretta Fay Enderud. He leaves behind three daughters, Darla Arlene (Larry) Wilson, Diane Jackson and Delaine Salt; granddaughters, Jeanne Wilson (Bill) Harrison, Kathy Wilson (Ronny) Turner and Kristi Wilson (Tony) Burden; grandsons, Bryan (Dana) Salt and Kevin (Amanda) Salt; great-grandsons, Ronald Turner, Ryan Turner and Alec Salt; and great-granddaughters, Lauren Lamb, Rae Harrison and Madeleine Salt; sister, Lorraine Hoagland of Hemet, Calif.; brother, the Rev. Harry David (Meredith) Jackson of McKinney, Texas; sister-in-law, Beryl Jackson of Broken Arrow, Okla.; brother-in-law, John Thomas of Pueblo; and numerous nieces and nephews.
