RAY CRISMAN
Portage-Ray Crisman, age 93, one of the oldest residents of the oldest residents ot the Portage-Union township area, died at 5:30 pm Monday at Porter Memorial hospital after a lingering illness.
A life-long resident of Porter county, Crisman was a well-known farmer in the Portage and Union townships. He served on the advisory boards of both townships during his lifetime.
He was a member of the Wheeler Methodist church, having served on the board of trustees and as church steward.
Born in Crisman, May 16, 1874, he was the son of Milton and Sarah (Fifield) Crisman. In February ------ in Westville he married Mary Etta Miles who preceded him in death in May 1940. In July 1944 he married Emma LaHayne, who survives.
Surviving besides the widow are one son, Robert RFD 2, Hobart; three daughters Mrs. Glady Ehrhardt, Hobart ------(the rest was cut off).
