Nancy Brown-Bucher, age 61, of Knoxville, Illinois died at 7:34 A.M. Friday, January 31, 2014 at Marigold Rehab and Health Care Center, Galesburg, Illinois.

She was born on February 27, 1952 in Galesburg, Illinois the daughter of Cyrus Dale and Mildred Fay Brown Walter. She attended and graduated from Knoxville High School in 1970. She married Jerry L Bucher on March 29, 1991 in Greenbrier, Arkansas. He survives in Knoxville, Illinois.

Also surviving is a son: Ryan (Lacey) Brown of Mt. Zion, Illinois; two stepdaughters, Brandy (Kris) Anderson of Galesburg, Illinois and Crystal (Harlin) Hickman of Galesburg, Illinois; grandchildren: Madelyn, Brock, and Sydney Brown; step grandchildren: Ethan Anderson, Danny, Brent, and Ashley Wells; two sisters: Carolyn Crouch of Middle Grove, Illinois, Dorothy (Martin) Jacobs of New London, Iowa; two brothers: Lyman (Linda) Walter of Maquon, Illinois, and Tom (Kay) Walter of Knoxville, Illinois; sister in law: Janet Brown of Galesburg, Illinois; several step great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, mother-in-law Mary Bucher, one brother, Jerry, one infant brother, Robert, and step grandson, Braeden Anderson.

She worked for thirty years at Gates Rubber Company in Galesburg, Illinois, retired in 2003, then in 2004 worked in Quality Control for Dick Blick Art Supplies in Galesburg, Illinois. She enjoyed coloring with her grandchildren, baking, cake decorating, taking day trips with Lyman and Linda, crocheting afghans, and most of all reading.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 A.M. on Thursday, February 6, 2014 at the Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home in Knoxville, Illinois. M. Dale Jacobs officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at the Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home in Knoxville, Illinois. Lunch will be provided after services at the American Legion in Knoxville. Inurnment will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made at services to the Walter Payton Liver Center for primary sclerosing cholangitis or online at http://hospital.uillinois.edu/About_UI_Health/Giving.html .
