Aged: 80 Years, 7 Months, 16 Days.
Wife of Joseph.
(Information made available for submission to F. A Grave. From "Cameron County., PA Tombstone Inscriptions, "Cameron County., Historical Society. Donated by Mrs. M.L. Bowser; Transcribed and edited by Dee Shaffer Zito.
Andrew, Anna, Mary, Charles E., Louisa, Lovisa, Henry, Amelia, Nathaniel Jr., and Sarah were children born to Nathaniel and Sarah Tyler Kent of Delaware Co NY.
Nathaniel, who was born at sea, his father is thought to have been Benjamin Kent.
Sarah was the daughter of the Reverend Timothy and Lucy Beeman Tyler.
14 Sep 1843 at Dry Brook Ulster Co NY Amelia married Joseph Haynes, son of Judson and Elizabeth Craipo Haynes.
Their marriage was blessed with children: Gritman Russell, William Sherwood, George Henry, Artemus Ward, Mellisa C., Walter Joseph, Charles Derrick and Ulysses Grant Haynes.
Gritman Russell, the eldest, died at the age of seventeen; William Sherwood is a railroad employee living in Austin, Potter Co., Penn. ; George Henry is a farmer of Larabee, McKean Co, Penna.; Artemus Ward is a resident of Walton, Grand Traverse Co., Mich,; Malissa is the wife of Warner Lord, of Manchester township, Wayne county; Walter Joseph is a farmer of McKean Co. Penna. ; U.S. Grant is also an agriculturist of McKean county. Of this family, Charles D. Haynes has spent his entire life upon the old homestead in Manchester township, Wayne county, which he now successfully operates.
Another very interesting story of possible sibling rivalry between Amelia and her sister, Louisa. Amelia and Joseph named their 3rd son, George Henry Haynes b 04 Mar 1841, as did Louisa and her husband, David Roberts name their 1st son, George Henry Roberts b 10 Feb 1843. Also both named a son Artemus Ward Haynes b 19 Feb 1849 and Artemus Ward b Roberts 18 Jul 1850. Maybe this wasn't sibling rivalry, just ...who knows.
Joseph was a farmer most of his life, he died 27 May 1903 at Wayne Co PA.
Their children gave them 20 grandchildren. They and the great-grandchildren have spread far and wide from their humble beginnings in Ulster/Delaware Co's and Wayne Co PA.
