Lorri Mahoney Hargis, 52, of Lynchburg, passed away Wednesday, February 5, 2014, at Lynchburg General Hospital. She was the wife of Jerry Alan Hargis. Born November 20, 1961, in Lynchburg, she was the daughter of the late Ernest Nelson Mahoney and the late Elizabeth Parsons Mahoney. Lorri was a former employee for Wilco Co., and a member of Eastbrook Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Lorri was preceded in death by one brother, Randall Mahoney. In addition to her husband, Lorri is survived by her son Joshua Crowell (Tracy) of Bedford; one stepdaughter, Heather Hargis of Lynchburg; one sister, Cynthia Mays (Wallace) of Lynchburg; three grandchildren, Whitney E. Crowell, Elijah G. Crowell and Julian Spence; one step-grandchild, Jaimee Meekins; and numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be conducted 1 p.m. Monday, February 10, 2014, at Fort Hill Memorial Park, with the Rev. Curtis Walkup officiating. There will be no scheduled visitations hours at the funeral home, yet family and friends are invited to visit at the Hargis residence.
