MRS. KAESSEN PASSED AWAY
WELL KNOWN SOUTH SIDE WOMAN DIED AT HER HOME ON KENTUCKY STREET YESTERDAY MORNING
Mrs. Catherine Kaessen, the wife of Bernard Kaessen of 922 Kentucky Street, died at her home yesterday morning at 11 o'clock, as was briefly mention in last night's Journal. She had been ill for a period of about twelve weeks, and on account of her extreme age her death was no great surprise to the members of her family and her friends. Senility was given as the cause of her death.
Mrs. Kaessen was born in Nordsphalen, Germany and was the daughter of the late Henry Stoerer and Anna (Haller) Stoerer. She was born Feb. 18 1829, and at the time of her death was aged 82 years, 1 month and 25 days. She came to America when a young girl, and for fifty-three years had been a resident of Quincy. She was well known on the South Side, and had many friends who will receive the news of her death with genuine regret.
She is survived by her husband, Bernard Kaessen, two sons, John and Frank Kaessen of Quincy; three daughters, Mrs. B. Boeing, Mrs. Edward Meyer and Mrs. William Baker, all of whom reside in this city. There are also fifteen grandchildren.
