He was retired from the Indiana University Transportation Dept. after 33 years of service. He was a member of the Fairview United Methodist Church, and a past president of the Victory Sunday School Class. He was a past Master of Monroe Lodge #22 F&A.M., a member of the Scottish Rite where he was a past High-Priest of the Bloomington Chapter, #127, and a Illustrious Master of the Bloomington Council #87, a past Commander of the Bloomington Commandery #63, a member of the Knights of York Cross of Honour, Robert A. Woods, #62. He was also a member of the Mural Shrine and the Stone Belt Shrine Club. He was a two-time past Patron of the Order of the Eastern Star, Elks Club #446, where he enjoyed a good card game, and the American Legion Post #18. He was an avid golfer and fisherman and enjoyed ballroom and line dancing until he was 80 years old. He was a US Navy veteran of WWII.
Survivors include his daughter Debbie; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren; a sister Wyrtis Clodfelter.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Neva in 1988, and a son Millard "Sonny" in 1998; a sister Sarah Allen and two brothers, David and William Baugh.
Funeral services will be Sunday at 2 p .m. at the Day Funeral Home with Rev. Cleon Wright, Chaplin of the Indiana Masonic Home officiating. Burial will follow in the Valhalla Memory Gardens where the Veterans Honor Guard will perform military graveside rites.
Friends may call today at the funeral home 1-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m.
The family suggests that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to the Indiana Masonic Home Foundation, Inc..
