OBIT: DEPORT TIMES 16 Apr 1920, Friday, from microfilm in the Clarksville Library: About nine o'clock Monday morning, Peter Lynch, constable of the Bogata precinct, shot and killed Edgar Lawler. It occurred on the main street of Bogata, four shots being fired. Only one of them took effect. The ball entered his shoulder and passed thru his heart. He ran a few steps and expired. The body of Edgar Lawler was brought to Deport for interment Tuesday, the services being conducted by Rev. A. B. Veteto of Bogata. Deceased was about forty years old, unmarried and is survived by his mother and several brothers.
