Loved Lynch Mother Finally Called By Death
Mrs. Earl Hahn of Lynch quietly passed away at her home north of Lynch Tuesday after a long sick spell. She is one of the beloved pioneers of the community whose influence will be sadly missed. Funeral services were held at Lynch today (Thursday).
Neva Hiatt was born in Allen, Neb., Jan. 28, 1872. In 1892 she cam to Lynch and in 1894 she was married to Wm. Earl Haun. Six children: Mrs. Merl Roselius, Edgemont, S.D.; Mrs. Fred Jesser of Eagle Butte, S.D.; Mrs. Earl Wyer of Anderson, S.D. [sic]; Roy Haun, Zell, S.D.; and John and Floyd Haun of Lynch, and her husband survive. In the early years she, with help of her husband and friends, built and maintained the Highland Friend Sunday school, and after it was discontinued, she became an active and influential member of the Methodist church in Lynch. She was well known as a faithful mother, the Haun family children being ample proof of her motherhood.
The deceased died at the age of 62 years, 5 months and 24 days.
*** Same newspaper has paragraph following this obituary: "Two Deaths Hit Family Severe Blow"; Gordon Jesser, 14-year-old grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Haun was drowned Sunday at his home in Eagle Butte, S.D. while his mother was at Lynch caring for her mother who passed away Tuesday.
