HATHAWAY RITES WILL BE FRIDAY
Resident Who Died at Iowa City Was Charter Moose
Member

Funeral services for Isaac Hathaway, 421 Twenty-ninth
street southwest, will be held at 2:30 o’clock Friday
afternoon at the McAuley funeral home. The Rev. C. D.
James, pastor of the Olivet Methodist church, will be
in charge. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mr. Hathaway died Wednesday morning at the University
of Iowa hospital at Iowa City from an attack of heart
disease. He had been in poor health but became
seriously ill only recently.

Mr. Hathaway was a charter member of the local order
of Moose and formerly served on the police department
at Des Moines. He was a retired farmer, having moved
from Des Moines 19 years ago. He had since lived in
Mason City and vicinity.

He was born June 23, 1857 in Ohio. Besides his widow
he is survived by 4 sons, D.W., Clyde, Vernie and
Orville, all of Mason City, and daughters, Mrs. M.S.
Mozart and Mrs. W. H. Jackson, Los Angeles; Mrs. H.L.
Pierce, Des Moines; Miss Wilma and Miss Dolly, at
home; Mrs. T.M. Brown, Lamona; Mrs. Mary Laffoon,
Centerville; and Mrs. Ray Akin, Cleveland.
