Graveside services for Buford Elliott, 91, of Lubbock will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 20, 2006 in the Idalou Cemetery with the Rev. Monty Hilliard officiating. The family will receive friends from 5-6:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 19, 2006 at Franklin-Bartley Funeral Home. Mr. Elliott died Thursday, Feb. 16, 2006 in Carrollton.

He was born Jan. 16, 1915 in Saint Jo. He was an army veteran serving during WW II. Buford married Myrle "Dutch" Daugherty Nov. 4, 1941 in Levelland. She died May 6, 2005. He farmed in Morton for 30 years and was a member of First Missionary Baptist Church. He moved to Lubbock in 1976 and was a member of Quaker Avenue Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include a son, Larry Elliott of Carrollton; a daughter, Barbara Johnson of Georgetown; four grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and a sister, Emma Lou Auld of Lubbock.

A son, Elliott Elliott preceded him in death on June 18, 1990, as well as six brothers.
