The daughter of Emanuel and Esther Pitman of Shenandoah County, Virginia her father made out his will there on 07 Jul 1848 and appointed his “friend and son-in-law” Moritz Heller as the executor of his will. Probate records show he proved Emanuel's will in 1850.
Elizabeth and Moritz were married 19 Apr 1842. According to information she provided on the 1900 federal census, she was the mother of ten children, six of whom were then still living.
