Elli M. Zimmermann, age 85, a Manitowoc resident, died early Wednesday morning, February 12, 2014 at her residence.
She was born on September 9, 1928 in Germany, daughter of the late August and Ella (Mull) Kuestor. On September 6, 1952 she married Raymond Zimmermann at St. John's/St. James Lutheran Church, Reedsville. He preceded her in death on March 23, 1979. Elli was employed with Manitowoc County Hospital in the kitchen for many years. She also was an owner/operator of a bakery store in Arkansas.
Survivors include nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends. She was also preceded in death by one brother, one sister and a longtime companion.
Cremation has occurred at All-Care Cremation Center, Manitowoc. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 24, 2014 at First German Evangelical Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Memorial Service will be Pastor Christopher Hoppe. Burial of the cremated remains will occur at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc, at a later date.
The family will greet relatives and friends at First German Evangelical Lutheran Church, Manitowoc, from 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 24, 2014 until 10:45 a.m.
