William Roberts Moss

William Roberts Moss, age 67, passed away early Sunday, February 7, 1999 following a lengthy illness.

Bob was born August 18, 1931 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Ralph J. and Hazel Roberts Moss. He spent much of his youth on the Deseret Livestock Ranch near Woodruff, Utah. He was a 1949 graduate of Davis High School and received a Bachelor of Science degree from Utah State Agricultural College and a Master of Arts Degree from Brigham Young University. He served a LDS Mission in Argentina.

While in college he met and married Joan Schmidt, September 12, 1955 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He was an officer in the 4th Armored Division Artillery in Germany and later in the 96th Army Reserve at Fort Douglas. He worked at the Utah State Prison for 25 years from which he retired in 1985. He was also a farmer in West Jordan, UT. He was a high priest in the West Jordan Mountain View 2nd Ward, having served in many callings.

He is survived by his wife, Joan, South Jordan; three children and their spouses, Collin (Karen) Moss , Tucson, Arizona; Annette (Eric) Lingard, Cleveland, Ohio; Merrilee (Erryn) Schwab, Layton, Utah; one brother, Ralph John Moss , Idaho Falls, Idaho; and nine grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, Feb. 11, 1999, at 11 a.m., Mountain View Stake Center, 2901 West 9000 So. Friends may call Wednesday, 6-8 p.m. at Goff Mortuary, 8090 So. State, Midvale, and preceding the services from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the Stake Center. Interment at 2:30 p.m., Bountiful City Cemetery.
