Rosalie Haymond, life-long resident of Madison County and farmwife, died at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa on Sunday, November 12, 2000. She was 78 years of age.
Mrs. Haymond was born August 23, 1922 in Madison County, Iowa. Her parents were R. Lloyd Givan and Rose Sawyer Givan. After graduating from Winterset High School in 1939, she worked for Dr. Anderson and Dr. Olson of Winterset as a nanny.
She married Rex Haymond of rural Winterset on April 13, 1941 at Wesley Chapel Church in Webster Township. They were the parents of three children.
Throughout her adult life, Mrs. Haymond was active in her church. She was an avid gardener and was an active member of The Sunshine Garden Club. She was a long-time member of the Crown Rebekah Lodge No. 360 of Winterset and was a Past Noble Grand.
