Passed away peacefully at the Lakeside Nursing Home in his 84th year. Mike was the first child of William Konowal and Mary Osiowy. Mike spent 55 years of his life with his beloved wife, Lillian Goertz, whom he married in 1946. Mike and Lillian devoted themselves to the work of evangelical ministry, traveling throughout Canada and the United Stated until their retirement back to Lemberg in 1982. It was with great sadness and mourning that Mike laid Lillian to rest in 2002. Mike was predeceased by his parents and his two brothers, Joseph and Edward Konowal. He is survived by two brothers, Anthony and George, and one sister, Marilyn. Left to mourn are Mike and Lillian's three children: Eldest son Charles and his wife Carol in Winnipeg, Son Calvin in Florida, Daughter Linda and her husband Phil in Ontario; four grandchildren: Sasha, Anton, Niklas and Maxwell; and one greatgrandchild, Janaiah. The funeral service will be held in the Trinity Lutheran Church, Lemberg, Sask., on Monday, March 10, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Wayne Garman and Rev. Harvey Wicks officiating. Interment in the Lemberg cemetery. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, contributions to The Canadian Bible Society, 10 Carnforth Road, Toronto, ON., M4A 2S4 or to a charity of choice may be tokens of remembrance.
