He was born on March 29, 1912 in Sun Prairie to George and Ida Kreger. He was married to Shirley Gilbertson of Cottage Grove on Dec. 4, 1937, at Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sun Prairie. He was a member of Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church and the Colonial Club. He was employed by Sun Prairie Trucking for 25 years and the City of Sun Prairie until retirement.
Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Phyllis (Leslie) Johnson of Mount Horeb, Audrey (Thomas) Zimmerman of Madison, and Sherry (Russell) Babington of Sun Prairie; two
sons, Rodney (Helene) Kreger of Sun Prairie and Wayne Kreger of Waukesha; two sisters, Myrtle (Arthur) Berlin of Sun Prairie, and Mildred (Edwin) Ingebrigtson of Madison; a brother, Victor Kreger of Sun Prairie; 13 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Elmer and Zenno; and by a grandson, Todd Zimmerman.
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon, March 21, at Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church. Highland Memory Gardens is the site of burial. Funeral arrangements were made through Cress Funeral Home.
