Thomas Robinson

1959 - 2014

Thomas Robinson died at home on February 21, 2014, which was his desire, near his mother and his sister, Rosalind, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Pensacola, Florida on September 12, 1959, to the union of Frank Francis Robinson, Sr. and Annie Ruth Robinson. He was a member of Saint Joseph Catholic Church, attended Saint Joseph Elementary School, B.T. Washington High School and graduated from Pensacola Junior College Adult High School. He attended George Stone Vocational Technical Center, receiving a certificate in electrical wiring. He was, additionally, trained in carpentry. Thomas worked for many years as a furniture refinisher at Dan Green Antique Shop, as a trim carpenter for Flip Kelson and at Fleet James Construction at Cordova Villas, however, he was mostly self-employed. Thomas enjoyed riding his bicycle and helping his mother around the house.

He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Francis Robinson, Sr. and his brother Reginald Martin Robinson. He is survived by his son, Rashard Robinson of Atlanta, Georgia; his mother, Annie Ruth Robinson of Pensacola, Florida; three brothers, Frank, Joseph, and Michael (Janice) Robinson, all of Pensacola, Florida; three sisters, Brenda Robinson of New York, New York, Avis (Floyd) Davis of Mobile, Alabama, and Rosalind Robinson of Atlanta, Georgia; and a host of other relatives and friends. He will be interred at Saint Joseph Catholic Cemetery with his grandparents and many other relatives.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on February 28, 2014, at 10:00 AM at Saint Joseph Catholic Church with Father Patrick Foley as celebrant. Burial will immediately follow at Saint Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Public viewing will be held Thursday, February 27, 2014, from noon-6:00 PM at Benboe Funeral Home. Special thanks to the University of Florida Shands Hospital, Dr. Mikhail Vaysberg, ENT, Dr. Michael Rinaldi, ENT, and Dr. Nutan J. DeJoubner, Oncologist.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society .
