Jim Leon RobertsSHARON - Mr. James "Jim" Leon Roberts, 66, passed away Friday, Feb. 28, 2014, at his home. Mr. Roberts was born in Polk City, Fla., and the son of the late Atlas Jackson (Jack) Roberts and the late Nettie Mae Posey Roberts. He attended Trinity Church of the Nazarene and was retired from the U.S. Postal Service with 23 years of service. Mr. Roberts served 20 years of service in the U.S. Army obtaining the rank of SFC and received four Bronze Stars while serving in Vietnam. In addition to his parents, Mr. Roberts was preceded in death by his wife, Darlene Lois Dease Roberts. Services for Mr. Roberts will be 2 p.m. Monday, March 3, 2014 at Trinity Church of the Nazarene, 436 Taylors Creek Road, with Dr. Phil Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Memorial Park-Hollis Lakes. The U.S. Army will provide full military honors for Mr. Roberts. Mr. Roberts is survived by his son, Kevin Roberts of Concord, N.C.; his daughter, Kimberly Sowell of Rock Hill; his brothers, Jackie Roberts and Byrd Roberts, both of Panama City, Fla.; his sister, Alice Johnson of Panama City, Fla.; and his three grandchildren, MyKayla Roberts, James Roberts and Connor Roberts.
