It appears the Abdon died in 1864 and before 1870. I did locate and have a copy of his Last Will and Testament dated October 13, 1864 which was probated in Kankakee County, Kankakee, Illinois. Therefore, I removed the day and month and changed the year to 1864 for his death. The last time that his name appears on the US Census is in 1860. His father, Joachim Spenard is my 3rd great grandfather, and in reviewing the family records it appears that he died between 1864 and 1869.
