Michel was born in the Cougnes area of La Rochelle, France in about 1600. He married Michelle Aucoin in about 1640. They are the parents of the following (verified with the Acadians Project):

On the 1671 census of Port Royal, Michel was a farmer and they had the following children: Francoise (29), Jeanne (25), Marguerite (20), Charles (22), Marie (18), Jehan (16), Abraham (Habraham) (14), Michel (12), Olivier (10), Claude (8), Francois (5). They owned 20 cattle, 12 sheep, and 8 arpents of land.

According to the 1686 census, he was also serving as the civil and criminal lieutenant general (which was the magistrate) of Port-Royal.

He died after 20 October 1688, according to the Acadian Project.
