Virginia May Beatty, 75, of Jackson and formerly of Leopold, MO, died Jan. 19, 2002, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

She was born on Oct. 7, 1926, at Lowndes, MO, the daughter of Edward and Elizabeth (Barrett) Boyet.

She married Floyd J. Beatty on Feb. 10, 1949. He died on April 18, 1989.

She was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Jackson. She worked at Thorngate in Cape Girardeau, retiring in 1987.

Survivors include two sons, Paul Beatty of Jackson and Edward Beatty of Clinton, MD; a daughter, Patricia Beel of Marble Hill, MO; a brother, Otto Boyet of Sullivan, MO; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and a sister.

Friends may call Monday at the Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill. Funeral service will be Tuesday at the funeral chapel. The Rev. Dean Heady will officiate.

Burial will be in Glen Allen Cemetery in Glen Allen, MO.
