Elda Pullium, 90, of Andrews died Wednesday, March 5, 1997 in an Andrews hospital. She was a native and lifelong resident of Cherokee County and the daughter of the late James Henry and Nola Elizabeth Case Phillips, and the wife of the late George W. Pullium, who died April 25, 1994.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Andrews First Baptist Church, where she had served for many years as a Sunday School teacher.

Surviving are three daugthers, Gladys Wymore of Glendale, Ca, and Elizabeth Gates and Mary Ann Wiggins, both of Acworth, GA; five sons, E.J. Pullium of Sylva, Rev. George Pullium Jr. of Knightdale, Jack Pullium of Temecula, CA and Boyd and Tom Pullium both of Murphy; 18 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Services were at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 8, in the Chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Andrews, with the Revs. George Pullium Jr. and Al Hood officiating. Burial was in Valleytown Cemetery. Grandsons served as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Good Shepherd Home Health and Hospice Agency, P.O. Box 465, Hayesville, NC 28904 or the Andrews First Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 427, Andrews, NC 28901.

Ivie Funeral Home, Andrews, was in charge of all arrangements.
