She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, George W. Lapham; her beloved daughter, Sharon Lapham Mowen; and her devoted granddaughters, Abby and Claire Mowen.
Originally from Philadelphia, Doris was a long-term resident of Southampton, Pa., and spent many cherished summers at the family's beach cottage in Ocean City, N.J.
Doris was the executive secretary to the president of Exide Battery until she left to become a dedicated mother and homemaker.
She was a gifted artist who later started her own successful business, Cardwell Classics, to sell beautiful pressed flower and watercolor creations. Doris was a tireless giver, volunteering many hours at the Southampton Free Library, Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, her daughters' schools, and PEO women's service organization.
Her sunny outlook and caring spirit touched many lives - in our hearts she forever will be our beloved wife, mother, grammy, Doris, Dor, and dear friend, always available with a shoulder to lean on, an ear to listen, and a laugh to share. She will be terribly missed.
Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing Saturday from 9 a.m. and funeral service at 10 a.m. at Wetzel and Son Funeral Home, 501 Easton Rd, Willow Grove, PA 19090. Interment will be in Forest Hills Cemetery.
Donations may be made in her memory to Alzheimers Association Delaware Valley Chapter, 399 Market St, Suite 102, Philadelphia, PA 19106. Wetzel & Son Funeral Home
