On November 20, 1937 Ralph J. and Kathlyn C. Toebak were united in marriage at St. Clement Catholic Church. For 40 years, Ralph was employed by the US Post Office in St. Nazianz and Sheboygan.
Active in his faith community, Ralph was a long-time member of St. Clement Parish where he served as an usher for many years. He was also a member of the Usher Society and the Old Timer's Baseball Association.
For many years, Ralph and Kathlyn enjoyed traveling to most of the fifty states and Europe several times. They also had been in several card clubs. He also loved gardening and only recently had to give up taking care of his beloved house plants.
Kathlyn preceded Ralph in death in 2007 after nearly 70 years of marriage. Surviving Ralph are two sons; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Ralph was preceded in death by a brother, Roy (Betty) Fessler, a sister, Nelda (Fred) Wiegand, a daughter-in-law, Diana Fleischmann, and a brother-in-law, Martin Toebak.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Ralph on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Clement Catholic Church (New York Avenue, Sheboygan) with Reverend Matthew Widder officiating. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call at the Church on Saturday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass at 11:30 a.m.
A memorial fund has been established in Ralph's name to St. Clement Catholic Church, Sheboygan.
