  MIDVALE—Abigail (Gayle) P. Gardner, 90, passed away August 9, 1993 at her home.
  She was born September 26, 1902 in Thatcher, Idaho, to Sumner and Julia Ann Whittle Pond. Married David L. Gardner in the Salt Lake LDS Temple, March 28, 1928. He preceded her in death September 23, 1969. Gayle graduated from Utah State University. She was very active in LDS Church organizations, where she was president of ward and state MIA and taught Relief Society. She was one of the first Grey Ladies to volunteer at Kearns Military Base and later at the VA Hospital. She was president of Midvale Women's Community Club and active in Women's Legislative Council.
  Survivors: daughter, Geraldine Taylor and husband, Leo; son, David B. Gardner and a very special daughter-in-law, Reta Gardner; eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Eugenia Dean. She was the youngest of eight brothers and sisters who preceded her in death; she was also preceded in death by a daughter, Margaret.
  The family wants to express deepest gratitude to Dorothea Despain for her total dedication and loving care of our mother these last four years.
  Graveside services Wednesday, August 11, 1993, 1 p.m. in the Larkin Sunset Gardens, 10600 South 1700 East, Sandy, Utah. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Intermountain Burn Center, 50 North Medical Drive, Salt Lake City, Utah 84112.
