Janet O. "Chip" (Walpusk) Kister, 88, of Somerset, passed on March 18, 2014 at home. Born August 28, 1925 in Jenner Twp., she is a daughter of the late Otto G. and Carrie (Maust) Walpusk Landis. She is also preceded in death by her husband Warren L. Kister Sr.; and sisters Vera Martin and Winifred Kidd. Chip is survived by her brother Carl Walpusk of Coraopolis; children Candace Christner (Steve), Warren L. Kister Jr. (Beverly), Carl Kister (Pam), Carrie Conn (Brad), and Rebecca Shaffer (Floyd), all of the Somerset area; grandchildren Collin Christner (Caity) of Fayetteville, WV, Lindsay Christner Barnes (David) of Baltimore, Md, Heather Kister of Somerset, Chad Kister (Brittney) of Bear Rocks, Bradley Kister (Cara) of Fairhope, Amber Kister (Andrew) of Somerset, Westley Conn of Friedens, Landon Conn of Friedens, Michael Mackanos of Hollsopple, and Emily Gavel of Hollsopple; and great-grandchildren Samuel and Lucas Christner, and Lane Peyton, and Taylor Kister. . Chip was a member of St. Paul's United Church Of Christ in Somerset. She was an avid bridge player, achieving her Life's Masters. There will be no visitation at Chip's request. The family will receive friends from noon until 1 PM Friday at St. Paul's United Church of Christ with a service to follow at 1 PM, pastor Matthew Deal officiating. Interment at Husband Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be sent to the St. Paul's United Church of Christ Capital Campaign Fund at 202 W. Union St, Somerset, PA 15501 or your charity of choice.
