Born in Jenners, Pennsylvania on September 10, 1922, Winnie lived there until after graduating high school.
During World War II she served in the Navy for two years and then moved to the Washington, DC area. She married Eugene L. Kidd Sr. in 1946, and together they raised three children in Forestville, later moving to Edgewater.
Winnie stayed at home to raise her children and later worked as a guidance secretary at Suitland High School in Suitland. During most of her life, she was an avid bowler and was active in the Lady Lions. She enjoyed water skiing, crocheting, and taking part in the United Methodist Women's Group of Parkwood United Methodist Church in Edgewater. She also enjoyed Scrabble and blackjack, reading, looking out over her water views and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Kidd is survived by her three children, a brother and sister who live in Pennsylvania, four grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Friends and family are invited to Winnie's Celebration of Life from 2 p.m. until her memorial service begins at 3 p.m., on Thursday April 26 at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater. Interment private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Children's National Medical Center, 111 Michigan Avenue, NW, Washington, DC 20010.
