Floyd James Sheridan, age 95, of Wallace, CA, died July 1 at home after a brief illness. He was born in Lancha Plana, California on November 21, 1915. On December 25, 1944, he married Leona Esmond, and they lived in Wallace all their lives together. Floyd served in the U.S. Army from 1941 to 1945, primarily in Australia and New Guinea. He worked in Clements most of his working career as a heavy equipment operator for Claude C. Wood Co. and retired in 1977. He enjoyed his retirement panning gold, raising cattle, frequently traveling, and spending time with family and friends. Mr. Sheridan is survived by his son and daughter-in-law: Loren and Kathye Sheridan of Clements; brothers: William and Calvin; sister: Florence; 2 grandchildren: Clayton Sheridan and Kelly Sheridan. He was preceded in death by his wife: Leona Sheridan; brothers: Ferd, Charles, Woodrow, and Patrick; and sisters: Edna, Rose, May, Eleanor, and Jane. Friends are invited to visit on Thursday, from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. at Lodi Funeral Home. A chapel service will be held on Friday, July 8, at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with committal to follow at Cherokee Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the Arthritis Foundation, P.O.
