Johnnie Dyer, 82, of Whitney, passed away on March 20, 2014 in Waco was born on February 21, 1932 in Cheneyville, Louisiana, to Samuel C. and Mary Alice Boudloche Nash. In March 1952, she married Paul G. Bissing. She later married J.W. Dyer in 1994 and both husbands preceded her in death.

She was an avid amateur artist. Known as "Diva" at both the CCRC Retirement Center and Park Plaza, Johnnie enjoyed talking, shopping and traveling. Involved in civic activities and associations, she was past member of the Whitney Hospital Board, founding member of Whitney Pioneer Days and a member of the Whitney Chamber of Commerce. She was also very involved in Eastern Star and was a member of the Whitney Eastern Star Chapter #930.

Preceding her in death were her parents and two sisters, Clois Ansley and Mary Alice Roberts.

Johnnie is survived by her children; grand children; fifteen great-grand children; sister Bobbie Nash Bayham and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, March 24, 2014, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors chapel in Whitney. Burial will follow at Bethlehem Cemetery in Whitney. Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m., Sunday, March 23, 2014, at the funeral home.
