James Crawford Mumper, aged 65 years, 10 months and 20 days, died at his home in Penn township, adjoining this borough, Monday night following a four months illness of angina pectoris.
Deceased was a son of the late William and Sophia Mae (Roth) Mumper, and was born and reared at New Germantown, this county. Later in life he located at Landisburg where he was active in community affairs and was a member of Mt. Dempsey Lodge I.O.O.F., for thirty eight years. Seven years ago, he purchased the Chas. J. Wagner farm where he resided to the time of his death.
In addition to his widow, he is survived by the following children: Mrs. Carrie Rhoades and Mrs. Ernest A. Wagner, of Marysville; Mrs. Mae Keller, of Carlisle; J. Willis Mumper of this place. He is also survived by the following brothers and sisters: Samuel Mumper, Harrisburg; Willis Mumper, Newville; John Mumper, Waterloo Iowa; Mts. Emmitt Long, Carlisle; Mrs. Malinda Schreffler, Blain. Twenty-four grandchildren and one great grandchild survive.
Services will be held at his late home Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev. Roy E. Linebaugh, of Carlisle, officiating. Interment will be made in the Evergreen Cemetery.
