Galson C. MUMPER 1905 –
John was last known to be residing in Waterloo, Black Hawk Co., IA where he was occupied as a blacksmith and a farmer.

Funeral services were to be held Tuesday at 3:30p.m. at the Church of the Brethren for John Russell Mumper, 83, of 718 Washington street, who died at 9:30 p.m. Saturday at University hospital in Iowa City, Ia. Rev. Charles DuMond will be in charge, and burial will be in Orange township cemetery.
John Russell Mumper was born Aug. 29, 1862, at Bain, PA., and married Laura Wentz in 1886. Surviving from this marriage are a son, William, Orange township, and a daughter, Mrs. Mary Dain, 1137 South Street.
His first wife died in 1890, and he married Rebecca Stout on April 18, 1891, at Huntsdale, Pa. A son, Galen, 1215 West Sixth street, is the only survivor of this union.
The family came to Waterloo 44 years ago from Green Springs, Pa., where he had been a blacksmith, and he had farmed in Orange township until retiring in 1919.
Other survivors include seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. The wife, four sons and daughters and eight brothers and sisters are dead. The body was taken to the Kearns Garden chapel.
