(June 23, 1948 ~ March 19, 2014)

Ann Christiansen Ayers was born on June 23, 1948 in Manhattan, Kansas, the oldest daughter of Galen and Martha Christiansen, currently of Columbus, KS.

After graduating from Columbus High School in 1966, she continued her schooling at St. Luke's School of Nursing in Kansas City, Missouri where she received her RN degree. She selected Houston, Texas as her place to live and used her nursing degree at various hospitals. Ann took time off from work after her son, Carter, was born to spend as much time as possible with him during his early years. She returned working to River Oaks Baptist School, with flexible hours so she could always be available for her child and his schedule. For the last 20 years, she was a Worker's Compensation Case Manager for Genex Services.

Ann was a long-time member of Palmer Memorial Episcopal Church. She was a Stephen Minister and provided high-quality, confidential Christ-centered care to people who were hurting.

She enjoyed traveling and loved taking cruises. She was also an avid reader and enjoyed the Houston Opera.

She is survived by her parents; son, Carter Ayers and wife, Melissa, of Houston, TX; sister, Lisa Howard of League City, TX; brothers Todd Christiansen of Columbus, KS and Clay Christiansen of Kansas City, KS; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers donations may be sent in Ann Ayers' memory to: Palmer Memorial Episcopal Church, Stephen Ministry, 6221 Main Street, Houston, TX 77030.
