Cora Stickney Harper was educated at Wellesley, graduating in 1880. She worked in various womens and charitable organizations. In 1901, she married Charles Thomas Harper in Savannah, Georgia. In 1904, baby Charles T. Harper, Jr was born, but passed away October 29, 1904. The Harpers lived in Boynton, Florida from 1905 to 1913. Cora founded the Boynton Woman's Club in 1909 and was very active in The Florida Federation of Woman's Clubs. In 1913, the Harpers moved to Fort Pierce. There Cora founded a chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). She died suddenly on November 1, 1914 and the DAR chapter was named in her honor.
