Antonio is survived by his wife of 67 years, Lupe (Mirabal), sister, Jane Sandoval, in-laws, Tony and Inez Gabaldón, Mary Gurulé, Ramona Mirabal and Tita Mirabal, children, Antoinette (Ray) Sedillo, Joe (Janie) Gurulé, Cecilia (LeeRoy) Haynes, Olivia (Anthony) Baldonado, Loretta (Fidel) Padilla, Paul Gurulé and Kathy Durán, 14 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and two on the way, many nieces, nephews and God children.
Antonio was predeceased by four sisters, one brother and seven brothers-in-law.
Antonio was born to José and Francesquita Gurulé on June 22, 1923 in Peña Blanca, NM.
Antonio served during World War II in the United States Navy as a Pharmacists Mate 3rd Class. Antonio retired from Civil Service and worked in maintenance at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church. Antonio was a life long member of the VFW Post 4243 in Bernalillo, American Legion Post 69 in Alameda, Head Usher at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Bernalillo, NM and lifetime farmer. Antonio enjoyed spending time in his shed wood working and sharing stories and songs with the family.
Services will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Bernalillo, NM. Visitation will be on Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. followed by the Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be on Thursday, April 3, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. Burial to follow at Santa Fé National Cemetery, Santa Fé, NM. Pallbearers will be Anthony Gurulé, Michael Sedillo, Eric Haynes, Jonathon Baldonado, Briana Gurulé and Joseph Gurulé. Honorary Pallbearers will be the grandchildren, great-grandchildren and God children. A very special Thank You to the Gentive Hospice team.
