Robert (George) Baadte, 53, of 871 Hershey Heights Road, Hanover, died Saturday, Aug. 11, at his home following a lengthy illness.
He was the husband of Peggy Moorehead Baadte, who survives.
He was born on April 20, 1937 in Baltimore, son of M. Genevieve Doffelmyer Baadte of Thurmont, Md., and the late John J. Baadte.
He was employed as a supervisor for the T. Baird McIlvain Co. of Hanover.
He was a member of Lohr's Memorial United Methodist Church of Hanover; the AARP; the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks 763 of Hanover, where he served as chairman of the youth activities and the color guard; and he was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving as a communication expert from 1955 to 1959.
He is also survived by two sons, Gregory L. Baadte of Hanover and Scott A. Baadte of Hanover; one siste, Iris Bollinger of Hanover; and two brothers, Donald Baadte of Thomasville and John Baadte of New Oxford.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Wetzel Funeral Home, Hanover with his pastor, the Rev. Norman Huff, officiating. Interment will be in rest Haven Cemetery in Hanover.
