Iris Irene Bollinger, 91, of Hanover, entered into God’s eternal care on Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at Homewood at Plum Creek, Hanover. She was the wife of Kenneth E. Bollinger who died October 9, 1999. Born August 25, 1926 in Sheldon, Iowa, she was the daughter of the late George J. and Genevieve (Doffelmeyer) Baadte.

Iris and her husband owned and operated the Old Mill Inn in New Oxford for 35 years prior to their retirement. She was a member of the McSherrystown Moose and the Hanover Home Association. Iris enjoyed playing BINGO and Bowling and spending time in her flower gardens. She was an avid Orioles fan and enjoyed spending time with friends and family especially her grandchildren and their sporting events.

Surviving are four children, Chip Higgins and wife Joanne of McSherrystown, Rebecca Laughman and husband Dennis of New Oxford, Kim Peterman and husband Duane of Hanover and Kenneth Bollinger and wife Samantha of Abbottstown, eleven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara L. Auchey who died April 3, 2013 and four brothers, Gerald, Donald, Robert (Sonny) and John (Denny) Baadte.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 10:00 Monday, August 13, 2018 at Murphy Funeral Home, 501 Ridge Avenue, McSherrystown. Burial will follow in Marburg Memorial Gardens, Hanover. Friends and relatives will be received Sunday 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Serving as pallbearers will be Tisha Leonard, Trina Beckner, Jennifer Luckabaugh, Alisa Auchey, Jonathan Auchey, Zachary Shrader, Justin Peterman, Jared Peterman and Kendall Bollinger.
