Mrs. Aletha Edna Sanny, 95, of Goodman, Missouri, departed this life on Tuesday morning, April 1, 2014, at the Golden Living Center in Anderson, Missouri, after a lengthy illness.

Aletha entered this life on January 26, 1919, in Lyman, Iowa, one of nine children born to the late Henry and Minnie (Martens) Sothman. She was raised in Lyman and was a graduate of Lyman High School. On August 21, 1937 in Lyman, she was united in marriage to Lloyd S. Sanny and to this union three sons and two daughters were born. She and Lloyd moved their family to Goodman, Missouri in 1947. Aletha was a hardworking and devoted homemaker throughout her life. She was a member of the Anderson Church of Christ, McDonald County Fair Board, McDonald County Conservation Ladies Auxiliary and was a 4-H leader for over twenty-one years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of fifty-five years, Lloyd Sanny on May 15, 1993; two daughter-in-laws, Cindy and Nancy Sanny; a son-in-law, Gary Macy; a grandson, Jeremy Sanny; two brothers; and four sisters.

Aletha is survived by three sons, Virgil Sanny and wife, Sharon, of Bedford, Iowa, Gary Sanny of Goodman, Missouri and Garland Sanny of Anderson, Missouri; two daughters, DeLoy Smith and husband, Lawrence, of Wichita, Kansas and Connie Smith and husband, Leonard, of Wesson, Mississippi; fifteen grandchildren; forty-two great grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Alberta Becker and husband, John, of Cumberland, Iowa and Janet Thompson and husband, Don, of Park City, Kansas; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services for Mrs. Sanny are 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 5, 2014 in the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Homes.
Burial will follow in the Mayfield Cemetery near Goodman, Missouri.
Those honoring her life by serving as pallbearers are Derek Sanny, Gaylan Smith, Phillip Macy, Levi Sanny, Caleb Sanny, Vince Macy and Cody Sanny. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6-8:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of the Ozark Funeral Home in Anderson, Missouri.
