Obituary of Sarah Martie (Beemer) Litts from the "Wantage Recorder", Sussex Co., New Jersey, Sept. 8, 1899:

Sarah Martie Litts, wife of Lewis H. Litts, died at their home in Newbern Twp., Dickinson County, Kansas on Wednesday evening, August 9, 1899, as we learn from the Abilene Weekly Democrat. She was born upon the farm now owned by David B. Everett in Wantage, this county, on 23rd day of April 1817, and was the daughter of Peter and Fannie (Cortright) Beemer. There were ten of the chlldren ,Jane married Isaiah Davenport of Wantage, Levi died in Kansas, Sarah M. whose obituary this is, David C. [sic-Jacob C.) of Wantage died a few years earlier, Solomon, died in the Civil War, Peter died in Pennsylvania, Margaret married Joseph McDanalds of Swartwood, Elisha died young, John died last year in Wantage, Amos died 3 or 4 years ago in Pennsylvania. The above named Sarah M. was the last survivor. She married Lewis H. Litts, February 15, 1840 and resided in Luzerne County, Pa. until 1878 when they moved to Abilene.

Note: Her brother was Jacob Courtright Beemer, not David C. Her mother's name is spelled Fanny, on her tombstone; real given name was Frances. Margaret's husband was Joseph McDanolds.
