Robert Cecil (Bob) Calhoun Jr. passed away Saturday, October 27th in Fredericksburg Hospital after a brief illness. Bob was preceded in death by his dad Cecil Calhoun Sr., first wife Ann West, nephew Cole Calhoun, sister-in-law Hazel Calhoun, brothers-in-law Clint Beierle, Leroy Jonas, Lee Roy Wagner, and sisters-in-law Melba Wagner and Lona Jonas. He is survived by his loving, sweet wife Maxine, his mother Leona Calhoun, his children Doyle and Melissa Byler, Terrell and Jeana Byler, Traci and Raymond Hallenberger, and his grandchildren Matthew, Will, and Baylee Byler, and Jacob Hallenberger. Bob is also survived by three brothers, James Calhoun (Arnella), Joe Calhoun, Gene Calhoun, sister, Bonnie Wood (Johnny), sister-in-law Irene Beierle, brothers-in-law Milton Jonas (Laura), Jerome Jonas (Ruby), Maxie Jonas (Donna) and Weldon Jonas (Margaret), and numerous nieces and nephews.

Bob was born in Blanco, Texas on November 7, 1934. After serving in the United States Army, Bob worked in the long-haul trucking industry before going to work for Blanco County. He later became Ranch Foreman for the Hall family in Johnson City and Kimble County where he has enjoyed working for the last 37 years.

Bob was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, rodeos, and Western culture, along with a good mystery novel and listening to bluegrass music. Many family members went to work for Bob on the ranch, which was affectionately known as "Bob's boot camp," often learning that a work day began before the sun came up and ended at a good stopping point, which was usually near dusk.

The family will be receiving visitors at Crofts Funeral Home in Blanco on Tuesday, October 30th from 5 PM to 7 PM. Services will be held at First Baptist Church in Blanco on Wednesday, October 31st at 10 AM. Serving as pallbearers will be Foy Wagner, Harold Calhoun, Lance Calhoun, Robert Wood, Clint Wood, and Colt Petri.

Interment will be at the family plot at Mt. Sharp Cemetery in Hays County, 11101 Mt. Sharp Road, Wimberley, Texas 78676. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you make a donation to a charity of your choice in Bob's name
