John Burwell Omohundro, nicknamed Capt. John Roaring Screamer, was the 7th of 9 children of Richard Omohundro, Sr. (1777-1860) and Elizabeth Seay (1777-1856).

He first married Catherine Salome Baker (1824-1864) of Louisa Co.,VA on Nov 18, 1840. She was the dau. of Martin Baker and Catherine Salvan Woodger. Together they had 11 children.
