Rites for R. J. Omohundro, leading farmer of Wilson county, who died late Friday afternoon after a brief illness, will be held at 2:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the Gladysville Christian church. Burial will be at the family cemetery.Mr. Omohundro who was born in Virginia 77 years ago, came to Tennessee when he was a young man. Since then he has made his home in the Gladysville community where he was a leader in the community. He was a Mason and a member of the Christian church.
Besides his wife, Mrs. Mentie Omohundro, Mr. Omohundro is survived by his sons, Roy of Wichita, Kan., Flint of California and Eric of New York; by his daughters, Mrs. Moss Mason of Mt. Juliet, and Mrs. William Smith of Texas. His brothers and sisters, Morton P. Omohundro of Nashville, Melvin H. Omohundro of Richmond, Va., Mrs. Elizabeth Adams of Scottsville, Va., and Mrs. Belle Nees of Kenilworth, N. J., also survive.

Mrs. Araminta Omohundro
Mrs. Araminta Omohundro, widow of the late R. J. Omohundro of Nashville, died Wednesday morning in Sacramento, Calif., at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. B. Hurley, relatives here have learned. they have not been informed of the funeral arrangements.
Mrs. Omohundro, a native of Rutherford County, spent most of her life in Nashville. She lived with her granddaughter, Mrs. Roy Miles, here until she moved to Sacramento a year ago. She was ill only a short time before her death.
She is survived by Mrs. Hurley and another daughter, Mrs. W. D. Smith, Whitewright, Texas; two sons, J.F. Omohundro, Sacramento, and Roy Omhudro, Wellington, Kan., and 12 grandchildren. A third son, Eric Omohundro, was accidentally killed in Trinidad West Indies, more than a year ago. The Nashville Tennessean - Feb 5 1944
