James E. Whetsell
James E. Whetsell Sr., 82, of Maypole Lane, Oakland, Md., died Monday, Dec. 18, 1995, at Garrett County Memorial Hospital.
He was born Dec. 24, 1912 in Gleason, son of the late Albert Whetsell and Nora Iman Whetsell Ullery.
He was a member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, Morgantown and Pleasant View Baptist Church, Oakland. He was a retired Coal miner, World War II Air Force veteran, and member of the Disabled American Veterans.
He is survived by aduaghter, Rebecca Mason of Oakland; a son, James E. Whetsell, Jr. of Cassville; two sisters, Merle Whetsell-Luzier of Sanford, Fla., and Nina Boyers of Bradenton, Fla.; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Irene E. Boone Whetsell, in 1992; five brothers and two sisters.
Friends may call at Stewart Funeral Home, Oakland, from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday. Service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 20, with the Rev. Marty Herron officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery
