METTA MAE (SPURGIN) WALKER, 93, 907 North C, passed from this earth into the presence of the Lord on Sunday, Jan. 25, 1998, at home.
Service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Immanuel Baptist Church with Randy Southerland officiating, assisted by Jack Robbins. Burial will be in Duncan Cemetery under the direction of Carter-Smart Funeral Home.
Mrs. Walker was born June 9, 1904, in Stillwater to Tilford A. and Lillie (Harrington) Spurgin. On Oct. 5, 1921, she married Johnnie Leon Walker in Walters.
A lifetime resident of the Stephens County area, Mrs. Walker was a homemaker. She was a member of Order of the Eastern Star and Immanuel Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law, Mahota and Joe Jameson, and Leotah Rue, all of Duncan; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Eunice Harrison of Norman.
She was preceded in death by her husband on Sept. 2, 1971.
Bearers will be John Rue, Jim Suson, J.R. Hamner, Steve McClanahan, Albert Haws and Vernon Hunt.
