He was born in Tipton, MO to Aloysius A. and Anna F. Schmidt, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by daughters, Alice Young, Mary A. Cuda and son, Joe G. Rummel, siblings, Arthur, Margaret, Ruthie and James Schmidt.
Harold served in our United States Air Force for 22 years retiring in 1966.
He then spent 23 years with the U.S. Postal Service retiring in 1989.
He was active in delivering Meals on Wheels and was very active in his Christian faith at St. Matthew Catholic Church. He was at his best when participating in the choir at St. Matthew and family functions.
Harold is survived by his wife of 48 years, Mary L. Schmidt; children, Andrew Joseph (Carolyn) Schmidt, John Charles (Joyce) Rummel, Chester O. (Deana) Rummel, Boyce W. (Linda) Rummel; grandchildren, Christine, Kara, Bryan, Kacy, Keith, Kirk, Terry, James, Robbie, Jennifer and Jodie; great grandchildren, Rocco, Gentry, Natalie, Ethan, Madeline, Alyssa, Megan, Shannon, Benjamin, Matthew and Katie; siblings, Norbert Schmidt, Sister Agnes Schmidt, Father Edwin Schmidt, Mary M. Schmidt and David Schmidt; and numerous nieces, nephews and a host of dear friends.
