Rites today for A. A. Schmidt
Aloyous Andrew (Dick) Schmidt, 69, Tipton, died Saturday at the Cooper County Hospital in Boonville. Mr. Schmidt had been in ill health. Mr. Schmidt was born July 10, 1900, at Smithton, the son of John P. and Anna Heinemann Schmidt.
He was married June 20, 1923 to Anna Fischer. She survives.
Other survivors include: Three daughters. Sister Agnes, Madison, Ill., Miss Margaret Schmidt, Fulton, and Sister Mary Magdalen, Chicago, Ill. Five sons, Arthur Schmidt, Norbert Schmidt, David Schmidt, all of Kansas City. Harold Schmidt, San Antonio, Tex., and the Rev. Edwin A. Schmidt, Boonville; one sister, Mrs. John Sudduth, Smithton; two brothers, Will J. Schmidt, Windsor, and Frank E. Schmidt, Tipton.
Mr. Schmidt was a member of St. Andrew's Catholic Church, Tipton. He was retired drayman and truck driver. He had been employed by the Bixler Gas Co., Tipton. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. today at St. Andrew's Catholic Church. Officiating at the mass will be the Most Rev. Michael F. McAuliffee, Rev. Herbert Kramer, Rev. Vincent Linnebur, Rev. John Fischer and Rev. Edwin Schmidt.
Burial will be in the Church Cemetery.

A. A. (Dick) Schmidt, 69, died at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Cooper County Hospital in Boonville, where he had been a patient for the past two weeks.
He was born July 10, 1900, at Smithton, the son of the late John P. and Anna S. Heinemann Schmidt. He married Anna Fischer at Tipton on June 20, 1923. Mr. Schmidt, a retired dreyman had worked for the past several years with the Bixler Gas Co. He was a member of the St. Andrew's Catholic Church.
Surviving are his wife of the home, three daughters. Sister Agnes (Rosemary) Schmidt, Madison, Ill., Sister Mary Magdalen (Alice) Schmidt, Chicago, Ill, Miss Margaret Schmidt, Fulton, five sons, Arthur Schmidt, Norbert Schmidt and David Schmidt, all of Kansas City. Harold Schmidt, San Antonio, Tex., and the Rev. Edwin A. Schmidt, Boonville; one sister, Mrs. John (Margaret) Sudduth, Smithton; two brothers, Will J. Schmidt, Windsor, and Frank E. Schmidt, Tipton and 15 grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were a daughter, Ruth in infancy, a son, James, in infancy; three sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth cook Momberg, Mrs. Alwina Weller and Mrs. Augusta Richard and two brothers, Charles Schmidt and Joseph Schmidt.
The Most Rev. Michael F. McCuliff, bishop of the diocese of Jefferson City will read the concelebrated mass at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Andrew's Catholic Church. Mass homily will be by Rev. Herbert Kramer, pastor, assisted by the Rev. Vince Linnebur, the Rev. John Fischer and the Rev. Robert Chenoweth and the Rev. Edwin Schmidt.
Pallbearers will be Charles Schmidt, Charles Sudduth, Arnold Dueber, Ed Weller, John Richard and August Schmidt.
Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body is at the Conn Funeral Home where the rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Monday.
The family suggests memorials to the American cancer society or to memorial masses.
