Ann (Pitts) Armstrong, 71, of Taylors, SC, wife of William M. Armstrong, died Thursday, December 22, 2005.

Born in Laurens County, SC, she was a daughter of the late Joseph Clifton Pitts and Maggie (South) Pitts.

A Certified Professional Legal Secretary, she was a Charter member of Legal Staff Professionals of South Carolina and Greenville and The Association for Legal Staff Professionals (NALS).

Mrs. Armstrong retired from the U.S. Probation Office after 32 years of dedicated service and was a member of Taylors First Baptist Church.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, are two sons, W. Mark Armstrong (Rohena) of St. Stephen, SC, and Joseph G. Armstrong (Johhnna), of Greenville; three brothers, Joseph C. Pitts of Asheville, NC, Curtis A. Pitts of Greenville and Lewis A. Pitts of Hickory Tavern; and two grandchildren, Joseph Gates Armstrong and Audrey Caroline Armstrong.

Two brothers, Lloyd E. Pitts and Ralph E. Pitts predeceased her.

The family received friends at The Mackey Mortuary, Century Drive, with funeral services at the Mortuary officiated by Dr. Jimmie E. Harley.

Burial was in Rabon Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Laurens County, with Rev. Leland Nelson conducting the graveside service.
