She is preceded in death by her husband Luther J. Brown and daughter Peggy Mosley. Parents, Fred McClain Burns and Esther May Phillips Burns.
She is survived by her three daughters; Janet Brown, Gail Brown, and Sandra Brown, and granddaughter, Amanda Mosley.
After high school she received her teacher's certificate from Snead College at Boaz, AL. and taught elementary children for several years before starting her family and moving to Edwards, Mississippi in 1967. She was a long standing member of Edwards United Methodist Church where she was choir director for many years. Her other positions in the church include President of UMW, then President of the district UMW. She also served as lay delegate to the Mississippi United Methodist Conference. She was instrumental in organizing the church crisis committee and many other duties.
Her interests were primarily in music and nature. She was a member of the Audubon Society. She will be remembered by all for her loving acts of charity and her beautiful voice. May she rest in peace.
